Managing Your Water Well During a Drought

The latest United States Drought Monitor┬áhas designated nearly the entire Commonwealth of Virginia as “Abnormally Dry,” with some areas now considered to be in a moderate drought.

Real-time well monitoring sites in Bedford County, Virginia have shown a consistent drop in water table levels since early Summer. Likewise, weather stations in surrounding counties haven’t measured an inch or more rain during a single storm since late August, or in some cases, mid-July.
